Marius Solberg

CEO of Trysil Race Academy

Marius brings a wealth of international experience and a proven track record in sports management and coaching. With a career spanning multiple countries, Marius has worked with diverse athletes, enhancing their performance and fostering a culture of excellence. His tenure as a Sports Director and Coach has endowed him with exceptional leadership skills, enabling him to build and guide successful teams across various competitive environments.
Marius’s passion for team development and his strategic approach to sports management are at the core of Trysil Race Academy’s mission. Under his leadership, the academy is dedicated to nurturing talent and achieving outstanding results, ensuring that every athlete reaches their full potential. Marius’s commitment to excellence and his dynamic leadership style make him an invaluable asset to the Trysil Race Academy community.

Judith Tromp

Administration and Financial officer

Judith is our Administration and Financial officer. She has been part of the Trysil Race Academy team part time since 2021. From 2024 she will work with TRA full time. Judith is very valuable in dealing with everything happening behind the scenes and off the race hill. If you have any questions, Judith is there to help you out.

Stephen Edwards

Programme Director

Stephen has more than 30 years of coaching experience from the grass roots up to the elite level. As a former Olympian himself, Stephen knows what it takes to succeed at the highest levels of sports. He has shown this numerous times while coaching athletes to World Cup wins, World Championships, Olympic Games, International Children Races and National Championships. He has been a National Coach for England, Denmark and Australia. Stephen has also gathered a wealth of experience as the Programme Director for European Development and Excellence, which he has led since 2009. His expertise will benefit all those who chose Trysil Race Academy as the place to futher develop their ski racing talents.

Thomas “Thompa” Erikson

Head Coach Trysil Race Elite

“Thompa” has started Europa Cup races for Sweden, and out of this he built himself an impressive career as a coach. He has been coaching ski racers since 1987. Among the teams Thompa has coached are: SWE Junior Men, SWE Europa Cup Men, SWE World Cup Men, FIN/GER World Cup Men Speed team, Åre Skigymnasium, NTG Bærum and Åsarna Ski Academy. With all his experience, gathered from taking athletes all the way to the pinnacle of our sport we have every confidence Thompa will lead Trysil Race Elite to success.

Elias Grym

Coach Trysil Race Elite Speed

Elias has been starting European cups races in speed diciplines for the last 3 seasons. Fresh out from the game of racing in to the game of coaching. Despite the lack of coaching experience, he knows what good skiing looks like and how to make it happen. He hopes to also make an impact on racers on how to be strong mentally. Especially since he knows the feeling of standing at the start of a tough downhill race for example. Elias brings both technical knowledge and youthful energy to our coaching staff. He will be assistant coach for our Speed Team.

Marcus Vorre

Head Coach Trysil Race Academy Tech Men

Marcus has a distinguished career as a ski racer, making a name for himself on the international stage. Representing Denmark, he competed in multiple World Championships, World Cups, and Europa Cups, showcasing his dedication and skill at the highest levels of alpine skiing.

Since retiring from professional skiing two years ago, Marcus has embraced his new role as a coach, eager to guide and inspire the next generation of athletes. With his extensive experience as a top-tier competitor, Marcus brings invaluable insights into race preparation, strategy, and performance.

In addition to his expertise on the slopes, Marcus is known for his deep passion for skiing, knowledge of equipment, and a positive, proactive coaching style. His ability to connect with athletes and foster a culture of hard work and determination will undoubtedly contribute to the success of the men’s tech team. Trysil Race Academy is excited to welcome Marcus as a key figure in their coaching lineup.

Peter Lind

Head Coach Trysil Race Academy Tech Women

Peter Lind comes from World and Europa Cup coaching. He was the Head Coach for Sweden during the 2010 Olympics campaign in SkiCross. Peter has the highest alpine ski coach education level available in Sweden, is an ISIA card holder, and is a former national team member as an athlete. Peter will be in charge of the TRA Women´s Tech team. We have every confidence that he will help them reach their goals on the slopes.

Dan Hagen

Coach Trysil race Academy

Dan is from Oslo, but has lived most of his life in Trysil and on the ski hill. He competed from a young age with good results on a national level. Since then, Dan has dedicated himself to coaching. He has worked with skiers at all levels through ski clubs, race schools, and highschool teams. Some of the athletes coached by Dan have gone on to the National team. Dan has a wealth of experience derived from cooperation with other coaches within the Norwegain Federation as well as foreign ones.

In addition to his extensive knowledge about ski racing, he is also a Technical Director, and an accomplished Judo and weightlifting competitor. Dan was on the National Team in judo and won National Championships and placed 3rd in the weightlifting National Championship. He was also a judo coach in Oslo for a time. With his broad experience from the world of competitive skiing as well as a wealth of experience from other sports, Dan will be a great contributor for Trysil Race Academy.

Parker Spear

Coach Trysil Race Academy

Parker Spear is an excellent coach with 7+ years of experience in managing continental cup ski racers. Originally from the USA, Parker got a varied education in sports. He started off at the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid. Went on to get his B.sc. in Business Administration with minor in Coaching, and M.ed. in Athletic Administration at Plymouth State University. He also got certified in ASEP Coaching and US skiing level 1.

Parker has left his mark on European skiing as well since moving overseas. He is in a position to offer valuable insights to ski racers and assist in their continued Development. His coaching experience includes being U19 – U21 FIS Men // Waterville Valley Academy // May 2014 – August 2018, U19 – U21 FIS Men // Proctor Academy, New Hampshire // August 2018 – May 2020 and FIS Alpine Ski Coach CTL ApS // Copenhagen, Denmark // October 2020 – May 2021. Since then, Parker has worked as a boot fitter with a leading ski shop in Denmark and led workshops in tuning & set-up to enhance skiing technique. He is now looking forward to getting back into coaching and working with the Trysil Race Academy team to help young skiers take their skills to the next level.

Oscar Hagberg Jonasson

Coach Trysil Race Academy

Oscar is a skilled coach with a strong background in ski racing and instructor certifications. Having completed SSLF 1, 2, and 3, as well as the Swedish Ski Instructor Examination and SLAO certification, he has a solid foundation in both technical and practical coaching skills. Oscar is also certified by ISIA and IVSI, and will hold an ISIA Card by the end of the season.

Originally from Sweden, Oscarhas a wealth of competitive experience, with multiple podium finishes at the Youth Swedish Championships, including 1 Team Silver in Downhill and 2 Team Bronzes in Downhill and Super-G. His best individual result was a 4th place finish, and he was also selected for a Nordic camp with a national team coach, further refining his racing expertise.

In addition to his racing career, Oscar has worked as a course instructor at NIG (Norwegian Instructors and Guides) in Norway, where he developed strong skills in teaching and coaching skiers at all levels. His commitment to the development of young racers makes him a valuable addition to the Trysil Race Academy team. He looks forward to helping athletes build their technical skills, strategy, and race performance in the Youth Development Team. Oscar is excited to bring his experience and passion for ski racing to the Trysil Race Academy and help athletes take their racing to the next level.

Edoardo “Edo” Galli

Coach Trysil Race Academy

Edoardo “Edo” Galli brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role as a ski coach. Hailing from the Cervinia ski resort in Italy, Edo has dedicated his life to alpine skiing both as an athlete and as a coach. His journey began at the age of eight in the Azzurri del Cervino ski club, where he later spent 12 years as a coach. During this time, he had the privilege of working under Erik Seletto, a renowned coach who led the French men’s national alpine team for a decade.

For the past six years, Edo has focused on coaching FIS-level athletes, honing their skills and preparing them for high-stakes competition. In 2019, he co-launched the Speed Camp, a month-long program in memory of the ski club owner’s father. This initiative has brought together ski clubs from across Europe to train in Super-G, fostering collaboration and excellence.

In January 2024, Edo expanded his horizons by coaching a group of Chinese teenagers in Slalom and Giant Slalom, preparing them for the Chinese Championship. His hands-on experience as both a former athlete and seasoned coach allows him to support his athletes with a unique blend of technical expertise and emotional stability, helping them perform under pressure with confidence.

Trysil Race Academy is proud to welcome Edo to the coaching team, where his dedication and international experience will greatly benefit the development of its athletes.

Andreas Amdahl

Coach Trysil Race Academy

Andreas Sønsterud Amdahl is a 23-year-old alpine skier from Trysil, where he has been a member of the local ski club since he was young, before later joining Lillehammer Ski Club. Currently competing at the European Cup level, Andreas is recognized as one of Norway’s top giant slalom athletes in Norway, with notable achievements including a bronze medal in the Norwegian Championships in giant slalom in Hemsedal and a gold medal in giant slalom at the Youth Olympics in Sarajevo in 2019.

In addition to his extensive experience in both national and international competitions, Andreas has shown remarkable resilience by overcoming multiple injuries through focused rehabilitation and strength training. His combination of technical knowledge, mental toughness, and expertise in injury prevention makes him a strong asset to the Trysil Race Academy coaching staff.

Andreas will be contributing to the development of our young alpine talents. He is looking forward to seeing you on the race hill.
